Any other suggestions? I tried Extra English but didnt like it at all. It was quite boring and I was watching it cause I had to but not cause I wanted to.
Actually any American TV-show is ok, which one to pick is up to your level.
Мисс_Пирс, I would highly recommend you to watch "Seinfeld" series, it`s really cool and funny, though the irony and humour are not very usual for ESL-speakers. Americans love it and I do, too. I have always been a fan of "FRIENDS", but "Seinfeld" is much more convenient for studying the spoken variant of contemporary English, that is why you should try it.
It`s a pity that this usefull thread is dead What do you think about restarting it?
I believe, there are a lot of things we can discuss in English and share with each other. Maybe if we have a specific topic to discuss each week we will be more organized.
Ladies, I`m waiting for you and your ideas about breathing new life into "Speak English" topic
Мисс_Пирс, don't worry Perhaps ladies busies household chores? Though... We can talk about, such as weather ?! ... It is terrible and unromantic. Isn't it?!

Girls, I have an idea: Each of us can propose several topics for discussion (with questions). When we will make list of them we can discuss it. You can find variuos topics searching the Internet For example: Junk Food
1) What springs to mind when you hear the term ‘junk food’? 2) How often do you eat junk food? 3) What is it about junk food that is so bad for us? 4) Do you think there should be a junk food tax to help pay for people who go to hospital with heart and weight problems? 5) Why is junk food so delicious? 6) Are parents who feed junk food to their children irresponsible? 7) Do you think there’ll be more or less junk food in the future? 8) What junk food do you really, really like? 9) Is the junk food from your country tastier than the junk food from other countries? 10) How can you change your lifestyle to eat less junk food?
11) Do lots of people eat junk food in your country? 12) Does your government educate people about the dangers of junk food? 13) Do you think junk food makers are immoral and should think more about people’s health? 14) What do you think of people who eat mostly junk food? 15) Does junk food or good quality healthy food make you happier? 16) If you had to choose between a strict vegetarian diet forever or a junk food diet forever, which would you choose? 17) Why does junk food cost so much? 18) What is the definition of junk food? 19) Is chocolate the most addictive junk food? 20) Do you think people ate junk food hundreds of years ago?
И если б еще кто-то толковый наши ошибки исправлял было бы ваще круто!!!!

By the way, Мисс_Пирс, ''Speaking Anglish'' is correct, isn't it? I'm asking you because your level of English is very high

Mummy-yammy, speak English is also correct, depends on what you mean. Speak English! our English teacher told us) Not Russian or Ukrainian but English.
Shall we talk about different nationalities, national character and different ways of life in other countries? Or perhaps about how people adapt abroad, what jobs they choose and how they manage to live with a 'foreign' husband/wife?

And our teacher told us "In English, please!'' Так и врезалось в мозг

As for me, the weather is perfect to sit by the fireplace (even if it is just a computer widget), drink good wine and cuddle together with the loved one...
And my favorite perfume suits perfectly for the rain. I love its bitter smell of wormwood mixed with the unique aromas of rain and wind . And the best thing is that its composition does not include any wormwood.
So, I enjoy the weather

thanks... But you aren`t right about that. I`m good in reading, listening and talking but - I really don`t know why - when it comes to writing in English I feel lost and make a lot of stupid mistakes. Maybe cause my thoughts fly faster than my fingers or pen...

why not? But it depends on the situation. Alena Chahca has already answered you the same)

They say that British people are dull and their food is boring. The Italians are hot-tempered, the Germans are punctual and somewhat reserved. And what adout the Thai people or Czechs?
